Description
Triumph Escapes Maximilian’s Arch
Maximilian built a Glory Arch to flaunt his pedigree,
Display the royal lineage, and show his menagerie.
Melusine’s daughters six, captured for the crowd,
A shackle round each siren’s throat, for voices fierce and proud.
One sister, she fainted, one let out a moan, one sister wailed,
And one, she swore and one, she cried and groaned.
But Triumph smiled and thought upon the dreadful situation,
And sought within her being, an appropriate incantation.
“If we can’t sing, no more shall they until we are set free.
Into the water, chain and stone, Maximilian’s monstrosity.”
“By the Daughters of Pressina, by Waters, Land, and Wind,
Melody forsake this realm, until we song and swim!”
