Description
Triumph Escapes Maximilians Arch
Maximilian built a Glory Arch to flaunt his pedigree,
Display the royal lineage, and show his menagerie.
Melusines daughters six, captured for the crowd,
A shackle round each sirens throat, for voices fierce and proud.
One sister, she fainted, one let out a moan, one sister wailed,
And one, she swore and one, she cried and groaned.
But Triumph smiled and thought upon the dreadful situation,
And sought within her being, an appropriate incantation.
If we cant sing, no more shall they until we are set free.
Into the water, chain and stone, Maximilians monstrosity.
By the Daughters of Pressina, by Waters, Land, and Wind,
Melody forsake this realm, until we song and swim!
All music ceased, the drum skins tore, the instruments expired,
Inky notes fell from the page, tone deaf became the choir.
Maximilian fumed, and paced his halls, and raged for seven days, but
What is an Emperor without pomp, strut, song and praise?
Take the wretched mermaids, throw them in the sea!
They may wear the shackles as a remembrance of me.
The curse tore through the empire, from nobility to pauper,
And down they tore the Glory Arch, and dragged it to the water.
Triumph and her sisters flee, for chains do rust in time.
Metal flakes to nothingness soaked in the watery brine.
A Mermaids life is rather long, compared to a selfish King,
Be grateful when you hear a song, and let the Sirens sing..
